Klout score is up? Released Mega Video single on FB, Twitter and GHF.
Speaking of super friends, I'm chatting with Jim Mullet (who I toured
with in Alaska) and learning that he has programmed C++ for years.
He's on the FFGL plugin project. Go team!

That means we have a project manager, a designer and coder.
Making a mailing list, whether or not I actually send it is useful. It
makes me think of my super friend list, if not super fans. Super
friends are great too.

The faucet is leaking in the back and the echo sounds like birds from
here. I'm thinking we should just put some rocks and plants under it.

Made it to chapter 2 in Ariel Hyatt's book.

Chronotracker has been indexed, so the search works now. Need to start
transferring links from EF. Although this blog is a personal time
stream, it may hold value for the audiovisual creative and
entertainment set. Anyone with interactive, musical or VJ ambitions
might want to follow what I'm doing. Plastikman, Amon Tobin, Schpongle
as well as Zebbler Enchanti Experience (edit) are examples of the type
of thing I'm going for.
About me for branding purposes later:
I started playing piano professionally at the age of 17 in a country
band called Freeride. We played as far south of Lincoln the Office Bar
in Beatrice.
I have played in the studio with Rilo Kiley at Presto! Recording
Studio, produced beats for Rig 1 (These are Saddle Creek Artists). In
2008 I worked for the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO, first on the street
team (for Gabriel Cortez) and later on the stage. My Production
Manager was Colin Peterson. I left the Fox to tour with Salem
representing Columbia Sportswear during which time I performed for two
nights at the Tugboat in Steamboat Springs with Bill McKay from
Leftover Salmon. In 2009 I started renting studio space in Boxcar
Gallery (Denver) where I showed my interactive electronic
installations on the Santa Fe Art Walk. In June and July of 2010 I
partnered with Kevin Daviet in operating Approaching Zero, a gallery
and event space which hosted several 100+ person events and the
talents of many Denver artists including Reak Havok and Video Junkie
Zombie. It was located next door to the Primerdome. In 2011 I built an
interactive installation at Colorado Art Center with Justin Larwick.
Also in early 2011 I began collaborating online with London IDM artist
MusSck aka Valance Drakes (recently signed to Schematic) under the
alias Maestro Vex. In August of 2011 I leased gallery space in
Historic Downtown Fairbury, Nebraska to continue working with bass,
visuals and interactive media, as well as found objects (Gallery
413). I'm 28.

Meeting with B about social media and engagement (recorded in google
docs). Numbers on a 'day job' looking ok, but no CMT Agency. :/
docs). Numbers on a 'day job' looking ok, but no CMT Agency. :/
Remember to get a dialogue with Events and promotions scheduled.
Midnight summaries for today and tomorrow may come later tonight or
tomorrow morning. Job hunting tomorrow before that might help focus
things.
Mentioned in the meeting is the usefulness of Vlogging in developing a
video for Kickstarter, et al.

Summary of 9.27.11
Music
-----
incomplete:
Send stems and track info to producers who have requested it on Soundcloud.
CD, web presence, etc. Have that done this week... At least record something new.
completed:
Installed Beads for Processing on D520. Ran noise and sine tutorial.
Downloaded some classic country samples. Setup piano.
Art
---
incomplete:
Contact the list of JeffCo artists who might be interested, as well as the list of artists I found gallery hopping in Lincoln.
Engineering
--------------
incomplete:
go through all the links (and make them searchable)
a cooler processing sketch, or none at all.
delete dead blogs
decide on design method... for Processing FFGL
complete:
Web
-----
Redid header for EF blog. Element Future needs some serious revision.
Search function isn't working (likely hasn't been indexed yet) but when it does, searching EF and links from here will be handy. Added Google Calendar. Added date stamp and live clock JS.
FFGL
-------
Becca digitized Processing/FFGL notes and annotated them with SDLC methodology definitions.
Chatted with B about FFGL and discovered vvvv thread. Asked B to research embedding JNI inside of C++. B found a tutorial for embedding JNI into C++ (linked).
Reviewed SDLC with Becca and compiled notes for Processing FFGL development. Current action is implementing a general life cycle, and decide on design method...
...documented in the Google Docs folder by linked correspondence with IB.
Business
--------
incomplete:
respond to posts on http://www.bandjob.com/
respond to events and promotions
find contact for barcade
Emailed JK and JJP to peek at CT (this will be useful for project descriptions).
I set my alarm to ring every 3 hours. 6 AM is silent.
received this email:
"Events and Promotions is looking for people in Colorado Springs to work wine and spirits events. You must be out going and good with people. Jobs usually run 4 hours and are on the weekends. I pay $25/hr per event. If you aren’t in Colorado Springs and this sounds like this is something that you would like to do, let me know!"
I'm wondering about pursuing it from my current location. <<< Can I pursue this? >
Heard about Barcade from J who says I can gig there.
"Engineering and Business are the trending topics in my mind, which I know means I am procrastinating from music and subsequently art."
"The all night sessions are fun but can be detrimental."
"It's well enough time to quit the banter and cut to the chase."
"Being novice doesn't help the anxiety."
"I enjoy the puzzle. I will keep these posts short and to the point."
iPhone battery died. Up late, too tired to start something. <<< Time to recharge >
Made black beans, lentil, and cabbage.
Ate a pepper sandwich.
Blogging should provide valuable feedback for time management. In the future my efforts are more concentrated and concise. My primary activities are divided into three areas which converge into one:
Music (audio)
Art (visual)
+ Engineering (interactive)

I decided some time ago that my waking hours should try to be between 9 AM to 3 AM (that's 6 hours of sleep, I get up relatively early, and can stay up or out relatively late. It usually gets weird after 3, anyway).
To help using this blog as a time management habit, I set my alarm to ring every 3 hours. 6 AM is silent.
I noticed that I posted a lot in one day. I will continue to track ideas as they arise, but hopefully a quarterly log will condense the posting. I'm posting everything, but with a focus on completed tasks.

Reviewed SDLC with Becca and compiled notes for Processing FFGL development. Current action is implementing a general life cycle, and decide on design method.
Method A (found by blind research): Port processing syntax into C++ using the openFrameworks library and use a string input or text file for the sketch.
Method B (recommended by Ilias ): Embed Java Native Interface into C++ and launch processing from there. This concept is documented in the Google Docs folder by linked correspondence with IB.

This workstation deserves better time management. I cringe at the
words. Maybe 'time leadership' is more palatable ala Seth Godin.
Whatever. Just do it.

Right away, Engineering and Business are the trending topics in my mind, which I know means I am procrastinating from music and subsequently art. It's because I'm worried about not making enough money fast enough, and using the computer as a crutch to avoid doing any real work (imagine that!). The all night sessions are fun but can be detrimental if I burn out in the process. I don't feel like sleeping, and I don't feel like working. Go figure. It's well enough time to quit the banter and cut to the chase. At least I get annoyed with myself.
Meanwhile, IRL, I'm sitting in 2,500 sq ft of gallery and event space. I need to monetize this space. I need to contact the list of JeffCo artists who might be interested, as well as the list of artists I found gallery hopping in Lincoln.
I need to record a piano album. I've never done it, and I've been performing professionally for 10 years. I've recorded for Rilo Kiley and played two night in Steamboat with Bill McKay, but I've never had my own CD, web presence, etc. Major slacking. If this time logging / birthday resolution thing works, I should have that done this week... At least record something new.
I have a tendency to ramble on about things. I don't like it.
I have a tendency to ramble on about things. I don't like it.
The Processing-inside-of-Resolume thing is pretty hot... but right now that project seems impossible. I know that it isn't and simplifying to the point of absurdity may be useful. I know I need either A) embed a Java Native Interface inside of the C++ for FFGL, or B) use openFrameworks to port the Processing sketch to C++.
Being novice doesn't help the anxiety but then I suppose I enjoy the puzzle. I will try to keep these posts short and to the point, in this case we are on the Engineering side of Art.
